Writing a book review sounds like a relatively easy task. Surely all you need to do is read the book in question, and then write a paragraph or two on what the book was about and whether or not you thought the book was any good. Humm, if only life were that simply! In reality it is really quite difficult to write a successful book review. Yes of course you can simply précis the book and add a final comment about whether you found it to be an enjoyable read or not, but this is unlikely to leave you with a book review that readers are keen to read… and so in turn unfortunately the book you are reviewing is unlikely to gain all that much interest off of the back of your review either. No, if you want to write a successful book review then you need to keep a few top tips in mind at all times.
1. Choose the book you are going to review carefully. For a book review to appeal, the book that you are reviewing needs to lend itself to the creation of a book review that is informative, entertaining and readable. The book itself also needs to appeal to a wide audience.

What’s the point of writing a book review, other than to do a favor for your friend who just self-published on Lulu? Don’t get me wrong; the author will appreciate the effort. However, any brownie points you score with the author are secondary. If you think I’m about to tell you that book reviews make good content for search engine optimization purposes… you’re right. They do. But that’s not the primary benefit I’m talking about, either. Am I about to suggest that writing anything, even a book review, is a great practice to hone your skills as a writer? Well, actually, yes! But that’s not the point I wrote this article to make.
Here’s what I’m driving at. If you read a book about marketing your business, a book review will help you to actually market your business. Read a book about organizing your home? Write a book review, and watch the piles of clutter start to shrink around you. Don’t ask me to prove it. If you want proof, do it and see what happens.

Writing a book review is great especially if you learn something new out of it. But when it comes into concluding your book review, how will manage it?
In book reviews, the conclusion is designed to reflect the focus of the rest of the piece. The idea is to leave the reader with a clearly-articulated and thoroughly polished (with the help of a quality grammar software) final assessment that brings together all the ideas you’ve presented throughout the review.
